Difference between a Fruit and a Vegetable

We eat them fairly regularly, but we don’t know their differences. That is what happens to a large number of people who do not know what the difference is between fruits and vegetables.  Difference between a Fruit and a Vegetable

Many fruits and vegetables are quite recognized by us, but there are some that are difficult for us to classify. What would you say are avocados, olives and tomatoes? Fruits or vegetables?

FRUITS  Difference between a Fruit and a Vegetable

Fruits are nothing more than the ripe ovaries that result from the seeds of plants. They normally develop from flowers, but they can also develop from some type of plant tissue; like bananas.

Fruits have seeds and play an important role in the reproductive cycle of plants.

Generally, the fruits are sweet and fleshy and contain seeds inside, although some of them have the seeds on the outside.

Examples of fruits that many believe to be vegetables:

  1. Tomatoes
  2. Cucumbers
  3. Avocados
  4. Chili peppers
  5. Pumpkins or squash and zucchini
  6. Olives
  7. Sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes, among others.

Also, apples, aubergines, rose hips and corn kernels are fruits.

VEGETABLES

Vegetables, on the other hand, are the plants or parts of them that are edible and do not necessarily play a role in the reproductive cycle.

Vegetables are seedless and are not usually sweet and meaty like fruits. People regularly classify different flavors of vegetables, some are considered sweet, others sour, bitter or salty.

Also, vegetables usually contain fewer calories than fruits (because they tend to have less sugar).

  1. Lettuce
  2. Broccoli
  3. Spinach
  4. Cauliflower

Finally, both fruits and vegetables are recommended for a healthy diet; But if you want to lose weight, the best option is vegetables because, as we already said, they contain less sugar; although there are exceptional cases such as beets that have a large amount of it.
