Difference Between Burrito and Taco

Tacos and burritos are very popular foods, especially in Mexico; country where they originate. Although the preparation and ingredients of both have varied over the years (especially influenced by the United States), the basic form of these foods remains the same.  Difference Between Burrito and Taco

Now, although there are similarities between burritos and tacos, it is important to clarify that they are not the same.

TACOS  Difference Between Burrito and Taco

The origin of the tacos is much older than that of the burritos, but like the latter they are covered by a flour or corn tortilla.

Sauces are prepared for the tacos, either sour sauce, onion or coriander. Among the main ingredients of the tacos are: meat, vegetables, tortilla and cheese.

In size, tacos are usually smaller compared to burritos and these are generally eaten as an appetizer or even as a dessert, but not as a main course.

BURRITOS

Burritos, on the other hand, have their origin in the 20th century and are said to receive this name because when covered by the tortilla they remotely resemble donkey ears.

Unlike tacos, burritos are eaten as a main course and are not eaten with a particular type of sauce. Among the main ingredients of the burritos we find: tortilla, meat, beans or grains and cheese.

As far as size is concerned, they are larger than the tacos and have double filling. In addition, in many cases they are filled with rice; something not so common when it comes to tacos.
