Difference between Led tv and Monitor

Today you can watch TV shows on your computer monitor or play computer games on your HD TV. Everything and so, this does not make them the same device. On the contrary, they are very different devices .  Difference between Led tv and Monitor

Televisions do not have the characteristics of monitors and in general pc monitors are smaller than televisions. In this article we explain all their differences and similarities.

Likewise, these two devices also have many elements in common. We have examined the differences and similarities between these devices. We explain them below.

As we see, both a television and a pc monitor can provide high definition screens for movies, games or to work. They are very similar in terms of price, size and functionality. But their specifications and differences make one or the other better depending on your preferences and needs. They can even work together to provide you with an additional screen for your computer or a larger screen for presentations and media.

There are many overlaps between the sizes of televisions and monitors, but televisions are generally much larger. High-definition televisions are typically larger than 50 inches, while computer monitors typically drop below 30 inches. One reason for this is that most people’s desktops do not support one or more large computer screens. On the other hand, we can install a large TV perfectly on a wall or a large table.

However, the monitors that offer the most variety are aspect ratios (the ratio of the screen’s width to its height). Most HDTVs have a standard 16: 9 widescreen ratio. But since monitors may have to support different work settings, they offer more variety. You can find extra wide or narrower monitors if space is a must.

When it comes to ports, a modern TV and monitor support VGA, HDMI, DVI, and USB.

An HDMI port on a TV or monitor connected to a device that outputs video on the screen. It can be a Roku Streaming Stick if using a TV, PC or laptop if the HDMI cable is connected to a monitor.

VGA and DVI are two other types of video standards that most monitors and TVs support. If these ports are used with a television, a laptop is typically attached to the screen so that it can be configured to extend or mirror the screen to the television so that the entire room can see it.

A USB port on a TV is often used to power a device connected to one of the video ports, such as a Chromecast. Some TVs even support displaying images and videos from a flash drive connected to the port.

All televisions have a port that supports a coaxial cable so that a cable service can be connected directly to the television. They also have a port for an antenna. On the other hand, the monitors do not have these connections.

However, with both TVs and monitors, adapters and jumpers are available that can convert, for example, one HDMI port to five or more if necessary. But generally, a TV will come out of the box with more ports than a monitor, as you are likely to connect more external devices.  Difference between Led tv and Monitor

Differences in price

Due to their differences in available sizes and functionality, you will be able to see a big difference in price between the cheapest and the most expensive of the two categories.

You can buy the cheapest TV or monitor (and probably the smallest) for less than a hundred euros. But, the most expensive monitor can reach 5,000 euros. On the other hand, high-end TVs can multiply this price by ten. This difference is due to the measurement gap along with the resolution, the type of screen, the inputs and much more.

You can probably find similarly sized televisions and monitors at similar prices, but the coolest monitor will always be cheaper than the latest TV.

Both TV screens and computer monitors support different screen resolutions and aspect ratios.

Common display resolutions for monitors include 1366 x 768 and 1920 x 1080 pixels. But some match the more pixel-dense TVs, with both categories supporting 8K displays with 7680 x 4320 resolutions. In both cases, these higher bills will cost you.

Televisions and monitors are also available in different screen types, including LCD, LED, and OLED. The newest of televisions (but not monitors) is QLED. The general rule of thumb is that as you add lettering to the display type, the quality (and price) increases. OLED and QLED displays illuminate each pixel on the screen independently, as opposed to LCDs and LEDs that use a backlight to illuminate the whole thing at once.

OLED and QLED technology have not yet found their way to PC monitors, so televisions have a small advantage.

Before deciding what to buy, you should be clear about what you want to do with the screen and how you want to use it. Is it to play video games? Is it to fully enjoy Netflix in your living room? Is it to edit photos in Photoshop on a big screen? Just doing internet searches? Talk on Skype with the family?

An important aspect to consider is the size of the screen and the available ports. If you have a laptop that only supports VGA and HDMI, you need to make sure you get a display that supports one of these cables.

However, there are other factors at play as well. For example if you have a laptop that supports VGA and HDMI and you want to use another screen in a dual monitor setup. You can connect the monitor to the laptop and use both screens.

Also, if you plan to connect a Blu-ray player, a PlayStation or a Chromecast in addition to the laptop, better make sure that there are at least three HDMI ports for these devices and a VGA port for your laptop, integrated only in HD televisions. and not on monitors.
