Juicing vs Smoothies which is better

Smoothies, juices, and smoothies are among the favorite beverages of many people around the world. Although there are few differences between the three, the reality is that they do and if we go to a restaurant or a cafeteria it is good that we know what makes them different and what characterizes each one.  Juicing vs Smoothies which is better

In case you have doubts, below we will tell you what is the difference between smoothie, shake and juice.

SHAKES  Juicing vs Smoothies which is better

Smoothies are drinks made with fruits, but in this case, the fruits are usually whipped whole (without removing the peel or seeds); although there are some fruits that do have to be removed.

Since they contain the pulp of fruits, the result is a thick liquid. They are considered good for health, as they provide fiber.

They act as a replacement for fast food. They tend to be lighter than many other types of food, and are therefore recommended as a meal before or after exercising . They are raw foods, so they bring all the benefits associated with them.

Another reason why they tend to be so thick is that milk, ice cream or yogurt are generally used in their preparation. (The use of ice cream is not very common, but it may be the case).

Smoothies that are made with grated ice or frozen fruit are known as smoothies. In some places they are also commonly called them yunyun or scrapings , when made with grated fruit ice.

JUICES

Of the three drinks, this is the simplest; because it consists of extracting the juice or the liquid part of the fruits or vegetables. Likewise, of the three treated drinks, juices are the only ones that do not have milk, yogurt or ice cream among their ingredients; ice cubes are simply added to them. In addition, they are commonly made from a single fruit and in a few cases, from two in combination.

Since they do not contain the fiber of fruits and most of the other nutrients are almost always lost in the extraction process, juices do not provide much benefit to health or a healthy diet . Even if you want to lose weight, it is best to avoid them.

SMOOTHIES Juicing vs Smoothies which is better

Smoothies are usually different from smoothies and juices, they can also be made from milk, cereals or ice cream; but to a lesser extent than in the case of smoothies.

They can be sweetened with fruit syrup or chocolate sauce and are generally topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.

Originally, smoothies were eggnog, whiskey, and milk; but with the passage of time they evolved to become what we know today. Like smoothies, smoothies often mix more than one type of fruit; but generally without the shell.

In smoothies it is very common to use ice cream and they are usually less thick than smoothies, but much thicker than juices and more food than the latter.

Differences between smoothies, juices and smoothies

  1. The smoothies are a mixture of fruits and the pulps of the same are usually preserved in them. They are thick and are sometimes combined with milk, yogurt and to a lesser extent; ice cream. The juices are those that are made from the liquid extracted from the fruits, they do not contain the pulp and they are not thick. The smoothies combine fruits, dairy products, and cereals.
  2. Smoothies are thicker than juices, juices are the most liquid, and smoothies are thick and frothy.
  3. The shakes are usually high in carbohydrates, but low in fat and protein. Juices may provide some vitamins and minerals. Smoothies can provide a good amount of calcium and protein and are generally high in calories.
