Kamal Haasan was born on November 7, 1954 in Paramakudi, Madras, India. He married Vani Ganapathi in 1978. The marriage resulted in a divorce in 1988. He then married Sarika in the same year and subsequently separated in 2002 for allegedly having an affair with his co-star Simran Bagga. Currently living in a relationship with Gouthami Tadimalla since 2004.
Rajinikanth was born on December 12, 1949 in Bangalore, India as Shivaji Gaikwad. He married Latha Rangachari on February 26, 1981. They currently have two children together: Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Soundarya Rajinikanth.
Kamal Haasan was first seen on the silver screen at the age of 4 in Kalathur Kannamma. He worked on five other Tamil films before taking a nine-year hiatus to act and focus on his education. During this time, he learned karate and also Bharatnatyam, a form of classical Indian dance. After his hiatus, he returned, only to be seen in supporting roles until the 1970s.
Rajini kant worked as a bus driver, but quit his job to study at the Madras Film Institute in 1974. Subsequently, he made his debut in Apoorva Raagangal and Andha Kanoon (Bollywood) in 1975.
Kamal Haasan began acting at age 4 and went on to complete more than 100 films. He acted as a supporting actor, after 9 years off, in most of his films, but ended that season with Naan Avanillai. In a span of four years, he won six Flimfare Best Actor Awards (regional). He has won four National Film Awards, nineteen Flimfare Awards for films made in five different languages. The state of Tamil Nadu presented him with the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. He also received the Nandi Awards and the Vijay Awards.
Rajinikanth won a Flimfare Award for Best Actor for his film in Tamil Nallavanuku Nallavan in 1984. From 1977 to 2009, the actor received many awards, including some from Flimfare, the State of Tamil Nadu, the Film Association and the Filmfans Association. He received the Raj Kapoor Award from the Government of Maharashtra in 2007. He was also awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third in line for the highest award for civilians given by the Government of India. In 2010, he received the Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for Excellence in Indian Cinema.
