Fascism is defined as the opposite of democracy and liberalism. If there is a dictatorship in a government, then it is called a fascist. In this type of system, people are oppressed and cannot have a say in government decisions.

It is the ruler who runs all aspects of a country through a racist and arrogant dictatorship. Fascist governments are characterized by being controlling and calculating. There is no respect for the freedom of the people and rights are very limited.

Furthermore, in fascism the state is considered supreme and absolute; the people must embrace all the decisions made by the ruler, since outside the state there are no human values. For this reason, fascists believe in extreme nationalism . All of this also includes militarism, corporatism, and social interventions.

DEMOCRACY

Democracy is said to be a more “pure” form of government. It is generally said that its origin dates back to ancient Greece, but today democracy as we know it differs greatly from the Athenian at that time.

In a democratic government, the rulers are chosen through the votes of the people. It is the decision of the majority that is carried out. Democracy is a form of government that takes into account the needs of the people. All citizens are considered socially equal.

People have freedom of expression, freedom to live and obtain the rights that the government gives them and that are protected by the State justice system.

Democracies show a freer society, since they are forms of government that work for the people.

There are several forms of democratic government, among which we can mention: representative, liberal and constitutional. Each based on the fundamental principle of democracy.

Key differences between democracy and fascism

• In fascism, power is found in the state (those who govern), while in democracy, power is found in the people or the majority.
