For us to distinguish between idealism and realism, we must first understand the meaning of these two concepts. Idealism is when a person tends to look at things in an ideal or perfect way. Realism, on the other hand, tends to be a more practical and realistic view of a situation. In simple terms, the two concepts can be viewed from different perspectives, but realism focuses on “what really is” and idealism focuses on “what could be”.
These generally accepted definitions of these terms are rooted in the use of philosophical terms. In philosophy, when it comes to conceptual problems, idealism is a theory that says that our reality is determined by our thoughts and ideas. While realism, for its part, says that reality is a complete being that is independent of our thoughts, ideas and even consciousness.
Using the classic test of whether the glass is half empty or half full, we see that ideal people are positive thinkers, i.e. those who see the glass half full. In realism, many people do not have a opposite or negative view, but look at the situation with less optimism. Realists are often perceived as stereotypes as people who are very rational, who think carefully before making a decision and weigh their options. In this sense, realists make safer and more practical decisions than ideologues who are willing to make potentially dangerous decisions.
These perspectives also affect how individuals deal with success and failure in their lives. These attributes were more like a “lap” mug less beaver effect than a realist. In Hoover’s world, lost, imaginary and achievable goals cannot always be a good thing. On the other hand, a realist is better than setting achievable goals and continuing to achieve them in a planned way.
