TRANSGENDER  Difference Between Transgender and Transsexual

Transgender people do not feel identified with the gender (male / female) that is supposed to correspond to them due to their sex (male / female).

These people feel a disconnect between their internal concept of gender and the gender roles that society establishes. For example, someone who is born male may not feel a connection between their sex and what society defines as “male” and exhibits behavior labeled “female.”

TRANSSEXUAL

On the other hand, when the person has a strong feeling and belief that the sex with which they were born is not the one that corresponds to them, then they are classified as transsexual.

Generally, transsexuals feel a deep desire to change their physical appearance to suit the characteristics of the sex that they assume is their part. Transsexuals usually resort to surgical procedures and hormone replacement therapies.

It is important to know that sexual orientation is not usually relevant for transgenders and transsexuals, many of them can be heterosexual, lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, asexuals, pansexuals. That is, sexual identity is not linked to gender identity.
