CAUCASIANS  Difference Between White and Caucasian

When comparing the two races, the Caucasian comprises a larger group of people compared to the other. The Caucasian race is made up of Maghribs, Arabs, Somalis, some people in India, and Ethiopians. On the other hand, Whites are mostly people who belong to Europe.

It should also be noted that although people in North Africa and South Asia are often technically called Caucasian, they are not generally considered this way; because many have darker shades.

The main difference between whites and Caucasians is directly related to skin color. Compared to Caucasians, whites have fair skin. Unlike whites, Caucasians have both a thinner nose and lips.

WHITE RACE

The concept of “white race” or “whites” originated in the seventeenth century. The term was primarily coined to differentiate light-skinned people from dark-skinned people. The reference to white people dates back to the times of Greco-Roman ethnography.

It was only in recent times that the concept of the Caucasian race originated. The term dates back to the 19th century and derives from a region in the Caucasus Mountains. The German scientist and anthropologist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach was credited as the originator of the term “Caucasus” in 1800.

In previous decades, Caucasians considered themselves superior to whites; but later the whites contested, assuring that they were the superiors.

Today the Caucasian concept to refer to the race of people has become almost completely obsolete; even the very concept of race has been losing importance in recent years.
