Difference between Trade Business and Profession

Sooner or later we all have to find a way to earn a living, for this purpose some learn certain techniques or acquire one or another type of skills; while others go to college to pursue a career. This is how people end up dedicating themselves to the realization of trades or to practice a profession.  Difference between Trade Business and Profession

But what is the difference between profession and trade? If you have doubts about it or just want a little more information, keep reading because that is what we clarify for you below.

OCCUPATION  Difference between Trade Business and Profession

An occupation is any economic activity that a person performs with the objective of making a living. The time that each person dedicates to these activities may vary depending on the case. There are those who develop their occupation daily, while others work weekly or monthly.

Example:  vendors, cashiers, vehicle drivers …

An occupation does not necessarily require schooling or completion of a college degree. Depending on its type, it can fall into one of the following three categories:

  1. Business: when the person is involved in commercial matters, manufacturing …
  2. Employee: occupations in which the person works for others and in return earns regular income .
  3. Profession: when the person provides their services applying their skills and knowledge acquired through training or education.

PROFESSION

On the other hand, as it was possible to understand after reading the last point, the concept “occupation” encompasses that of “profession”; therefore, it is more general. In this way, it is understood that whenever a profession is exercised, one has an occupation, but not everyone who has an occupation is a professional.

Examples:  Lawyers, doctors , teachers.

Finally, to be considered a professional it is necessary that the person has done some specialty or training in the area that corresponds to him. Likewise, professionals must be governed by a professional body or statute; since in case of not following the pertinent ethical codes, your right to practice the profession may be revoked.
